Crayons

Artists are just children who refuse to put down their crayons.  Crayons are the epitome of creativity.  When we were kids, we didn't care what we were drawing, as long as we were drawing something.  And even better, when we were kids, we would be accepted for anything we drew.  We could draw our families, our dreams, our idols, our fears, our accolades, literally anything and we'd always get the same response, "great drawing sweetie!  Draw me another!"  We look back on these drawings and are disgraced, "How could anyone like these, they're awful."  The drawings didn't change, our perception on what is 'correct' changed.  Who's to say what's right and what's wrong?  Why can Picasso splatter some paint on a canvas and call it a work of art, but when I do it, it's called a mess?  We need to remember that everyone is unique and we have no right to judge other's works of art anything other than beautiful, because to them that's what it is.  We can't be afraid to pick up the crayons.
